A network of local solidarity actors who, through a digital platform, provide 20 free food parcels each week to vulnerable residents in the Nolo district of Milan. The initiative recovers surplus produce from outdoor street markets, transforms unsold goods from neighbourhood delicatessens, and purchases fresh food at reduced prices from a Municipal Market. It is a service aimed at tackling food waste and ensuring fair access to food, rooted in a grassroots effort that began during the pandemic in April 2020. Each year, it enables the donation of up to 400 food parcels purchased at reduced prices, while rescuing and redistributing 4 tonnes of fruit and vegetables and 400 kilos of surplus food from local shops.
