Abstract

An initiative in the Nolo district of Milan, located at the Municipal Market on Viale Monza. Here, lecturers, researchers and students, together with local residents, have a new space dedicated to teaching, research and design activities: an observatory on neighbourhood regeneration; social solidarity services (including “Spesa Sospesa”, which provides fresh produce to families in need); a web radio station; public events, workshops, exhibitions; and a neighbourhood archive gathering documents and research. One of the related projects is the Vocabolario di Quartiere, which aims to spark discussions among Nolo’s residents through ten key words identified in debates on the Nolo Social District group—words that narrate the cultural and social transformation of the neighbourhood.
