The aim of the contribution is to present the methods used and results obtained to date, begin to frame the information collected in the broader historiographical framework of the Castle of Milan, to stimulate new research on indirect sources (or their re-readings) and, more generally, to highlight the importance of direct, archaeological readings, even in contexts where knowledge of the historical event is considered mostly complete and not susceptible to significant variations.
