GIDE (Group for International Design Education) is an international consortium oh higher education design schools, which promote the exchange of design education with an ethical dimension, exploring multidisciplinary and inter-cultural experiences, working practices and competences across the European Union and beyond. The group consist of 7 main partner colleges and schools in Belgium, England, Germany, Italy, Scotland, Slovenia, Switzerland. “Creativity for local enterprises” is about work and essay deveoped by the GIDE membering during the academic year 2011/12. Partner schools worked for one semester on this topic with Interior and Product Design students to explore innovate solutions to relate the local enterprise reality withthe design item. Instructors and students investigated a common theme, sharing experiences, cultures, approaches and design skills. Results underline the key role of spatial and industrial design in development of new scenarios for contemporary living. Davide FassiArchitect, PhD, lecturer at the Politecnico di MilanoSchool of Design where he is member of DHOC (Interior Design for Hospitable Cities research group), coordinator of exchange programs and GIDE (Group of International Design Education). Agnese Rebaglio Designer, PhD, assistant professor at the Politecnico di MilanoSchool of Design where she is memebr of DHOC (Interior Design for Hospitable Cities research group) focusing on interior design tools and practices in the urban space set up.
