A procedurefor the nonlinearmodal analysis of a resistor is presented in this paper. The identification process aims at assessing the viscous damping factor of the structure including the nonlinear terms in the frequency response function with the harmonic balance method. For this purpose a simplified single DOF system has been adopted to describe the nonlinear behavior. A good agreement between numerical and experimental results has been achieved.

Abstract
