Purpose: This study aims at developing a conceptual framework to identify the main features of supply chain innovation and to analyse the roles of dynamic capabilities for it. Design/methodology/approach: The framework, developed through the literature review, will be applied to an exceptional Italian fashion and luxury company, thus exploring its applicability in real context and getting some empirical based research in the area of supply chain innovation. Findings: The paper provides a structured framework, which provides guidelines to managers are willing to introduce supply chain innovation inside a company, by identifying the linkages between supply chain innovations and other forms of innovation. Originality/value: Supply chain innovation is a topic under explored in the literature and not yet analysed for fashion luxury companies, although the strong importance devoted to innovation in these companies. Moreover, the paper provides valuable insights to managers that are required to introduce supply chain innovation inside companies.
