The Heliotherapy Clinic – Gondar- in Legnano is one of the most important examples of Italian Modern Architecture. The building was designed by BBPR in 1838 and it was the only Italian building that was published in La nouvelle architecture by A. Roth. This inter-war building provided sun treatment, gymnastics and games under medical supervision for eight hundred under privileged and under nourished children of working parents from Legnano. In this architecture the young boys and girls were also training to become “good” fascists. Today Gondar lies “lifeless” on the hill in the upper part of the city, only a sign reminds it.

Abstract
The Heliotherapy Clinic – Gondar- in Legnano is one of the most important examples of Italian Modern Architecture. The building was designed by BBPR in 1838 and it was the only Italian building that was published in La nouvelle architecture by A. Roth. This inter-war building provided sun treatment, gymnastics and games under medical supervision for eight hundred under privileged and under nourished children of working parents from Legnano. In this architecture the young boys and girls were also training to become “good” fascists. Today Gondar lies “lifeless” on the hill in the upper part of the city, only a sign reminds it.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
