In this paper we report the study of a polynorbornene obtained with TiCl4-based catalysts. Using molecular modeling methods combined with structural analysis based on X-ray diffraction spectra, we have found that the polymer chains adopt in the crystal a helical conformation with unique structural features for polymeric materials. The results reported in the paper are consistent with a 2,3-exo-Disyndiotactic Polynorbornene, a crystalline polymer with tubular helical molecular structure.

Abstract
In this paper we report the study of a polynorbornene obtained with TiCl4-based catalysts. Using molecular modeling methods combined with structural analysis based on X-ray diffraction spectra, we have found that the polymer chains adopt in the crystal a helical conformation with unique structural features for polymeric materials. The results reported in the paper are consistent with a 2,3-exo-Disyndiotactic Polynorbornene, a crystalline polymer with tubular helical molecular structure.File in questo prodotto:
