Gas diffusion layer (GDL), a key component of PEMFCs, is usually made of carbon cloth or paper, treated with different hydrophobic agents, and coated with a micro-porous layer (MPL). A set of GDLs having different textile properties, produced by an Italian Company (Seal S.p.A.), and coated with the same MPL, was investigated. The samples were tested with the same Catalyst Coated Membrane (Nafion® 112 with Pt load 0.5/0.5 mg cm-2), considering different operating conditions such as flow rate and cathode humidity. The cell testing was run at 60°C and for each configuration steady-state polarization curves were obtained. In order to evaluate the role of different GDLs AC impedance spectroscopy of the running cell was also performed.

Abstract
In order to evaluate the role of different GDLs AC impedance spectroscopy of the running cell was also performed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
