The aim of this paper is to introduce an innovative approach to the problem of the local development connected to the development of the ecomuseums in Italy. The thoughts, the tools and the working method introduced in this paper are the result of an applied research project, carried out by Polytechnic of Milan and Lombardia Ecomuseum Network (LEN). Design can actually do something for the local development: the project presented in this paper is a best practice case at this way.
