Time-to-digital converters (TDC) suffers from mismatch of delay elements and of flip-flops,typically used as time arbiters. Mismatches produce nonlinearity of the conver-sion characteristic which is unde-siderable in many applications. This invention is a method for the linearization of TDCs which is based on the automatic calibration of the delay elements of the TDC chain.
