On 20 July 1974 Pasolini published a famous article on the walls of the historic city of Sana’a in Yemen. The article appeared on the occasion of the broadcast in Italy of his short film of 13 minutes on the walls of the Yemeni city shot in 1970 during the filming of the movie “The Flower of the Thousand and one night". Fifty years later, after the debates for its protection, after the UNESCO recognition, and after the international safeguarding interventions, the ongoing conflict since 2015 has wiped out significant parts of this jewel of Yemeni culture.
