Abstract
The Green and Digital Transition is a significant shift in society, requiring equitable strategies and anticipating socio-economic implications. This chapter advocates for relational urban living, integrating communal existence, regenerative knowledge, and digital tools. The Quintuple Helix Innovation model is used to define the Twin Transition policy, emphasizing digital technology in metropolitan construction and the growing role of intangible components like knowledge, local culture, and labour. The Twin Transition concept involves place-based solutions, sustainability, networking opportunities, and technology transfer. The research aims to develop guidelines for sustainable habitats in vulnerable territories in metropolitan regions, focusing on data-driven innovation and strategic partnerships. An ‘E-Gateway for digitisation in the metropolitan economy’ strategy is proposed to enhance economic potential in Italian urban systems, including digital infrastructure development, skills enhancement, supportive policies, and collaborative partnerships. E-Global Gateways can facilitate global economic integration, enhancing local digital economy participation, and promoting cultural exchange and understanding between countries.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
