The tyre dynamics strongly affects structure-borne noise and vibrations inside the vehicle compartment. Its contribution is predominant to the overall noise levels perceived by the passengers in the 0-400 Hz frequency range. In this paper, an experimental setup specifically designed to measure the tyre radial vibrations during a cleat test is presented. To acquire the data, a laser sensor is installed on a supporting structure that moves around the tyre circumference. At the post-processing stage, attention is first paid to the extraction of the tyre free response from the measurements. The tyre radial vibration has been visualized considering all measurement positions at different time instants. Then, an algorithm for the identification of the travelling waves constituting the signals has been developed. The results of the identification are discussed, through a comparison with the measured signals.

Abstract
The results of the identification are discussed, through a comparison with the measured signals.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
