The construction of a capillary system of swimming pools in Milan was part of Mussolini’s Fascist sports programme, in which politics, architecture and urban planning were intertwined. This policy left us with sports facilities that are still in use today and that, at the time of their construction, were internationally renowned for their technical and technological research, innovative spatial solutions and attention to the relationship with figurative art. Starting from this premise, the article examines the construction history of the Cozzi and Caimi pools, designed by the engineer Secchi.
