Abstract

Already deployed standard telecom cables can become sensitive to the environment thanks to simple, cost-effective and energy-efficient interferometric layouts, able to detect and even localize events such as traffic and damages in motorways and railways, and also monitor the integrity of the network infrastructure itself.
