The 12th International Conference on Contact Mechanics and Wear of Rail/Wheel Systems (CM 2022) was hosted by Monash Institute of Railway Technology (IRT) and was held in Melbourne, Australia from 4-7 September 2022 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The theme of CM2022 was Advancing the Science and Practice of the Wheel/Rail Interface to Improve Railway Operation Efficiency. The conference was attended by a significant number of participants including 131 presenters for oral and poster presentations from various countries (Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Colombia, France, Italy, Japa, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States).
