The ongoing market revolution in the automotive sector about the development of Electric Vehicles (EVs) is involving not only European car manufacturers, but also European Countries. Despite the technical problems related with this topic and the different solutions adopted, the greatest difficulty stands with the customer experience. The EVs market already offers several solutions represented by different vehicle characteristics and performances. Although EVs sales are increasing, customers fear the so-called 'range anxiety'. Also the charging infrastructure can play a bad role for the purpose. This paper aims to investigate the travel capabilities of mid-range EVs with the actual infrastructure for charging stations available in a non-central context of Europe. The assessment of the utility of mid-range EV and the economic impact of purchasing and managing an EV is considered through a numerical modelisation. The analysis considers also the charging infrastructure with suggestions that could be necessary to encourage the widespread of electric mobility across the overall country. The type of charging infrastructure is also considered to overcome range-limited issues.
