In 2018 a research agreement between Politecnico di Milano and Regione Lombardia has been established aimed at the development of a risk-based maintenance prioritization methodology supported by information retrieved by bridge documentary sources, such as existing databases, original design drawings and reports, inspection and intervention reports. About 400 bridges in charge to local administrations have been considered to this purpose and the first task has been the collection of bridges information. Public authorities supported by Politecnico di Milano filled in a form based on available documentation. Moreover, the Road Information System named StradeNet has been promoted and built starting from 2016 by Regione Lombardia in collaboration with the Regional Agency for Innovation and Purchasing (ARIA S.p.A.) to include data in a user-friendly digital environment accessible to local administrations and to support the bridge management process. This paper describes the activities performed the results obtained in the collection and management of bridge data needed for the risk-based bridge prioritization and provides a descriptive framework of the Bridge Management System (BMS) included in StradeNet.
