An insufflator for exposing stmctures within an internal cavity forming a coufined volume within an animai or human body, the apparatus including: an input conduit for ex changing gas with the coufined volume; a gas insufflator for in sufflation of gas into the coufined volume through the input con duit, wherein the gas insufflator is coufigured to deliver an insuf flator pressure to the confined volume, wherein the gas insuffla tor is coufigured to (super)impose at least one pressure or flow oscillation to obtain a forced oscillating pressure or flow deliv ered to the confined volume, the forced oscillating pressure or flow having at least one component with a frequency and an am plitude; a monitoring unit for monitoring a response ofthe inter nal cavity to the forced oscillating pressure or flow for determin ing one or more physical properties of the internal cavity; and an adapter unit for adjusting the insufflation pressure based on the determined one or more physical properties of the internal cavity.

Abstract
An insufflator for exposing stmctures within an internal cavity forming a coufined volume within an animai or human body, the apparatus including: an input conduit for ex changing gas with the coufined volume; a gas insufflator for in sufflation of gas into the coufined volume through the input con duit, wherein the gas insufflator is coufigured to deliver an insuf flator pressure to the confined volume, wherein the gas insuffla tor is coufigured to (super)impose at least one pressure or flow oscillation to obtain a forced oscillating pressure or flow deliv ered to the confined volume, the forced oscillating pressure or flow having at least one component with a frequency and an am plitude; a monitoring unit for monitoring a response ofthe inter nal cavity to the forced oscillating pressure or flow for determin ing one or more physical properties of the internal cavity; and an adapter unit for adjusting the insufflation pressure based on the determined one or more physical properties of the internal cavity.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
