In the last twenty years urban policies have been moving towards sustainable mobility models, in which cycling is one of the focal points. However, many areas of the Mediterranean basin suffer from infrastructural delays and the lack of data and tools for cycling mobility makes it challenging to reduce this gap.In this paper we present a web application that aims to support cycling mobility in two ways: on the one hand it provides a cycling navigator by calculating safe routes on a suboptimal road network, on the other it anonymously collects crowdsourced data and provides a tool to help in the development of cost-effective actions to improve the infrastructure. The pilot project, implemented for the city of Milan, has been used to calculate more than half a million routes, building a cycling mobility model that can be used for infrastructure analysis, impact assessment and infrastructural planning to help improve that state of the cycling network and thus the sustainability of the city.

Abstract
The pilot project, implemented for the city of Milan, has been used to calculate more than half a million routes, building a cycling mobility model that can be used for infrastructure analysis, impact assessment and infrastructural planning to help improve that state of the cycling network and thus the sustainability of the city.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
