COVID, like all major crises, has given us time to reflect on the consolidated systems of our society, while at the same time giving us the right perspective to be able to highlight the limits and criticalities. At a time like this, the "side view" (..., De Bono) of the design world could give us a glimpse of other ways to experiment in order to improve the most problematic aspects. The paper moves in this direction, presenting a collection of cases on the creative reuse of plastic, a material that is the protagonist of a wide literature because of its polluting vocation but flexible in its reuse, characteristics that suggest a possible paradigm shift from global to local. Abstract

A change of pace that could improve our cities.
