Fashion and interior design look like distant, even antagonistic worlds, disciplines that eye each other up and brush against one another without ever really meeting. And yet they have much more in common than might appear: clothing and the home as openings of their respective narrations, the culture of daily life as testing ground for the transformation of society as a whole, the ability to mould new languages and patterns of behaviour, the drawing of creative inspiration from many facets of contemporary expression, such as art, music, theatre, cinema, food. And then research into new materials, the circular economy, sustainability, handicrafts and the digital, as well as the fact that design itself is a broad and multidisciplinary tent and includes fashion within its irregular boundaries.

Abstract
Fashion and interior design look like distant, even antagonistic worlds, disciplines that eye each other up and brush against one another without ever really meeting. And yet they have much more in common than might appear: clothing and the home as openings of their respective narrations, the culture of daily life as testing ground for the transformation of society as a whole, the ability to mould new languages and patterns of behaviour, the drawing of creative inspiration from many facets of contemporary expression, such as art, music, theatre, cinema, food. And then research into new materials, the circular economy, sustainability, handicrafts and the digital, as well as the fact that design itself is a broad and multidisciplinary tent and includes fashion within its irregular boundaries.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
