The process of digital and technological evolution in recent years has shifted to words such as Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence. However, the use of these and other technologies in architecture is still limited by a lack of IT tools, which have only been made fully available in the last few years. The evolution of architectural design tools can be condensed into a sequence: (analogue) Drawing Board, AutoCAD, Game Engine, also representative of the historical contexts in which they have been developed and used. This study, based on a Master thesis recently discussed at the Politecnico di Milano, examines the role that Game Engines can play in the graphic representation and design processes.
