The aim of the work presented in this paper is to study if Social Media Geographic Information (SMGI) can give valuable support in identifying pattern models in the spatial and temporal distribution of people participating in large events such as the Expo 2015 universal exposition hosted in Milan, Italy, from May 1 st to October 31 st 2015. Geostatistical tools have been applied and the results have been mapped to achieve an easy and immediate spatial visualization of the results.
