The paper proposes a comprehensive reference model for global product development (GPD), in which product lifecycle management (PLM) technologies play their relevant role. The model has been defined starting from a detailed analysis of the literature and trough an empirical research conducted in Italy in 2009. The proposed model considers at the same time organizational and technical implementation of GPD, and it could be used for mapping the GDP ‘as is’ state of a company, as well as to define the future evolutions a company can follow in setting up its GPD strategy.

Abstract
The paper proposes a comprehensive reference model for global product development (GPD), in which product lifecycle management (PLM) technologies play their relevant role. The model has been defined starting from a detailed analysis of the literature and trough an empirical research conducted in Italy in 2009. The proposed model considers at the same time organizational and technical implementation of GPD, and it could be used for mapping the GDP ‘as is’ state of a company, as well as to define the future evolutions a company can follow in setting up its GPD strategy.File in questo prodotto:
