Far End Crosstalk (FEXT) is the most limiting factor in xDSL systems. When multiple CPEs share the same cable-binder, the inter-operator FEXT cannot be controlled or mitigated. We propose a cooperative method for inter-operator FEXT mitigation where different operators mutually cooperate by exchanging only their mutual interference but never the encoded data for privacy. The proposed iterative method is based on the exchange of the alien-FEXT that largely improves the intra-operator MMSE multiuser detection. The performances of this interference-only exchange are comparable with fully cooperative multiuser detection method where all operators cooperate by sharing all the available data. © 2014 IEEE.
