This article attempts to answer the question: Does cross-culture impact on the territorial identity on a global scale? In fact, all cultural and creative practices are becoming increasingly multicultural and interdisciplinary, giving all artistic and design activities some new culturally issues and value in their creations and processes. According to these contemporary heterogeneous practices, the field of fashion design involves an interdisciplinary approach basing on both, the principles of design and the values of art and how they can contribute to support even territorial components in the postmodern period based on cross-cultural dialogue. The following paper focuses essentially on the crossover between fashion design and fine art, particularly where this complex relationship utilizes the garment or the fabric to interpret and communicate social and cultural components of particular regions. This study is essentially dedicated to the potential communicative aspect of the design and its value to the cultural development and regeneration of the territorial identity.
