ENHANCING THE CH: PSYCHOLOGICAL AND AESTHETIC ISSUES

The human dimension, both physical and cultural, especially relational, is the starting point of an interior design approach. Thoughts on architectural restoration will try to be interpreted through this vision, in the belief that this perspective allows to emphasize a cultural inclination which belongs to restoration but is often overshadowed by the prevalence of a technicistic attitude. Reflections on the built environment considering the human being as a whole, result into a need to abandon a rational confidence in an unlimited development and to refuse a systematic consumption of land, energy, buildings and natural heritage. In this way, ecology, conscious science, environmental protection, defense of the landscape, protection of memory and architectural restoration become closely related to each other and play a strong innovative role
