The liberal globalization that causes new cultural issues in our time enhances the importance of the multidimensional aspects of design practices and its licit relationships with various fields and actors. Especially, in order to act within this current upheaval, the consideration of both cultural and social dimensions becomes crucial to make sense of the design artifacts and processes. This study aims to provide the conception of cultural sustainability, focusing specifically on the fashion design field as a multidimensional design practice. The concept of cultural sustainability is analyzed from two different points of view:the former is tackled through the relationships between fashion design and art,to appraisal not only the current state of artifact but also its aptitude to be encompassed within more sustainable cultural field; the later has studied the new fashion design process as a developing tools to realize cultural sustainability, specifically maintaining the dynamic balance between globalization and localization. Through this two different ways, this paper tries to individuate what could make fashion design (artifacts and process) a cultural paradigm that is able to draw more sustainable actions, thoughts, and images, rethinking both the traditional way of doing and the current state of things.

Abstract
Through this two different ways, this paper tries to individuate what could make fashion design (artifacts and process) a cultural paradigm that is able to draw more sustainable actions, thoughts, and images, rethinking both the traditional way of doing and the current state of things.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
