The contribution is directed to a reflection on the importance of the international Summer School within the School of Architecture and Society of the Politecnico di Milano and for Piacenza city, thaty offer a territorial and landscape context particularly suitable for this kind of events. The essay consists in sequence of different paragraphs referred primarily to the city of Piacenza and its context as topical case studies, then to the organization of the initiative and the theme of the Workshop, this year focused on the relationship between 'creativity' and urban modification.
