The geographic area north of Milan (known as Brianza) has been characterized in recent years by a rediscovery of its cultural heritage, neglected during the years of industrial development. This is the case of Villa Bagatti Valsecchi in Varedo, which represents an interesting example of a XIX-century building characterized by an eclectic style, realized by the Bagatti Valsecchi Family on a pre-existing building. The Municipality, current owner of the whole property, is only supported by the volunteers for managing the activities and the maintenance of the complex. Thanks to the analysis of the conservation state of the Villa carried out by the students of the School of Architecture, a study in depth was achieved providing information of the whole building, till defining its vulnerability and suggesting priorities of intervention. The awareness of the high value of this architectonic heritage promotes the connection with the surrounding urban context that represents an interesting link of a wider cultural network placed in other villas characterizing the Brianza territory, which is an example of cultural industry for the promotion of the knowledge.

Abstract
The awareness of the high value of this architectonic heritage promotes the connection with the surrounding urban context that represents an interesting link of a wider cultural network placed in other villas characterizing the Brianza territory, which is an example of cultural industry for the promotion of the knowledge.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
