The question of the representation of "changing city" involves that not only objects, systems and their relationships have to be considered, but also the ways, the practices of life, the experiences of the people living for various reasons in the city and together contribute to its livability, result also of expectations and emotions, of images and mental representations. The urban survey is based on a well-known practice and theory but offers at the same time an open methodology: it is therefore possible integrating / completing this practice through other devices for sensory exploration of urban environments, where the challenge is to grasp changes and not only the permanence.

Abstract

The question of the representation of "changing city" involves that not only objects, systems and their relationships have to be considered, but also the ways, the practices of life, the experiences of the people living for various reasons in the city and together contribute to its livability, result also of expectations and emotions, of images and mental representations. The urban survey is based on a well-known practice and theory but offers at the same time an open methodology: it is therefore possible integrating / completing this practice through other devices for sensory exploration of urban environments, where the challenge is to grasp changes and not only the permanence.
