NATURE IN THE CITY

The particular attention to enviromental and open spaces is the core of the book, that orients the attention to the opposition between City and Nature, focusing on the promotion of architectural urban and territorial contexts in terms of sustainability and enviromental inpact resources. The Contemporary city is infact a mix between town and country. The two extremes are no longer polar realities but blended combinations of the two levels of settlement. The radical process of suburbanization over the last fifty years has resulted in a complex continuum within the built space while the consolidation of today's city has lead to a reactionary colonization of nature within the city. This shift has resulted in a moltiplication of abandoned spaces where nature has been able to regain, lost territory to urban growth.
