Preliminary studies on Advance Design

This essay describes new thinking and practice in Advanced Design (ADD) - design that is not merely highly developed but anticipates the future by envisioning novel products and processes. The focus is especially on the front end of innovation and the search for solutions in complex pioneering processes using design-related tools and practices. The research activity evolves between these two tensions: projects and theories, practices and reflections: what does it mean to perform research into AdvanceDesign? Undertaking an introductive and simplified approach to the study of AdvanceDesign, means describing the problematic sphere, talking about the modalities and methods that have characterised it so far, with the aim of identifying new design spaces and innovative research keys.
