The purpose of this work is to develop an optical distance sensor of reduced size and very-low power consumption to be used on a measuring system for characterizing steel pipes. The work led to the construction of a working prototype configured as an active triangulation rangefinder with a gamut of 10 cm starting at 5 cm. The experimental measurements have confirmed the feasibility of this new lightweight and extremely small size rangefinder with a resolution of about 10 μm on a range of measurement of 10 cm, providing up to 10000 measurements per second.

Abstract
The purpose of this work is to develop an optical distance sensor of reduced size and very-low power consumption to be used on a measuring system for characterizing steel pipes. The work led to the construction of a working prototype configured as an active triangulation rangefinder with a gamut of 10 cm starting at 5 cm. The experimental measurements have confirmed the feasibility of this new lightweight and extremely small size rangefinder with a resolution of about 10 μm on a range of measurement of 10 cm, providing up to 10000 measurements per second.File in questo prodotto:
