Very High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete (VHPFRC) is a composite material able to combine the qualities of a very dense cement matrix (high compressive strength, very low permeability) with the mechanical performances of high carbon steel fibers (high tensile strength and modulus of elasticity). This combination turns out in an innovative material, that has to offer new design and economical advantages to the traditional precast technology. The paper aims to describe the comparison between a traditional industrial building designed with the current construction technology and a new approach based on VHPFRC structural calculation. In the evaluation, both the Cost Calculation Analysis and the Life Cycle Analysis are developed. As main conclusion, the new material allows to decrease the entire building cost and the environmental impact, while increasing the service life of the structure.

Abstract
As main conclusion, the new material allows to decrease the entire building cost and the environmental impact, while increasing the service life of the structure.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
