Access is an area of transition, an input, the place of the threshold; it is part, as we know, of what we call “communication design”. The design of communication determines, in fact, its modalities; it puts in figure the forms of access to a content, to what, long ago, within the scheme of communication, we would have simply called message. The focus, therefore, is on this input, on this moment of passage leading to the goal, and making the possibility and the right to access the content concrete. This is, we can say, the centre of gravity in which the essence of a communicative act is concentrated, the passage that decrees the outcome. Such passage has rules that may change the sign of the entire act, by connoting it positively or negating its effects.
