Per una nuova sede dell'Accademia all'ex Scalo Farini

Strictly related to the necessary redevelopment of the historical compound of Brera are the decongestion and expansion into new premises of the Academy's activities, with a functional rearrangement between "internal" functions (basic academic education more centered on the monumental heritage) and ???external??? functions (the most creative, specialized and advanced education). The academic and anti-academic tradition of the "Artists Community" linked to the history of Isola Comacina (property of Brera Academy) would be useful on this occasion to study a new type of settlement. The extension for the new Grande Brera Academy could find in the disused area of Farini railway yard most suitable spaces and direct connections to the city centre, to the transport network of the metropolitan area, to the Politecnico University system, to a possible new large Botanical Park, to new residences for students. This could also be an alternative to the current proposal for a controversial, not convincing and insufficient new location on the area of the barracks in Vincenzo Monti Street.
