The paper comments the results of the project competition for Palazzo Citterio in milan, publically presented in December 2013. a particular attention is paid to the few elements remaining today of the project designed and realized by James Stirling (1989), notably the roofing and the basement. These elements are unfortunately not valorized by the new winning project. in addition, due to several reasons, the recently proposed transfer of the academia di Belle arti, from the Brera Palace to the building no more in use of the military barracks in via mascheroni, is considered inappropriate.
