The move from the vectorial CAD tools, traditionally being used for the project phase, to BIM did not produce, yet, a change of paradigm in terms of information management, despite this could potentially affect the whole production process. The INNOVance project, as an interoperable platform for exchanging information in the building industry, is aiming to enable the structured information exchange through the whole process in favour of all the actors, with the purpose of moving from the simple graphical modelling to the information management. Hereafter an example of application on a school building case study is showed.
