Piazza della Ricerca (Research Square) by EMILIO FAROLDI ASSOCIATI

In the forecourt of the New Chiesi Research and Development building is arranged a system of benches and planters integrated with the architecture of the area. This new landscape has a function of creating a recreational zone which is also a point of social focus. The orientation of the architectural greenery is designed to provide a view of the vegetation from inside the building, enhancing the visual continuity guaranteed by the glazed surfaces. The design of the natural setting, a priority for enhancing the work spaces, alternates species of trees and shrubs with different forms and volumes so as to create carefully designed visual screens with compactly planted tanks. This increases the recognizability of paths with rows of plants, offering recreational areas planted with tall trees that chromatically characterize the public space. The fulcrum of the space consists of a fountain which is located in the point of intersection between the two main paths and around which revolves around the system of natural and artificial artifacts.
