This work presents the experimental investigation aiming to characterize the mechanical performance of the new tetraxial fabric and to compare the mechanical behaviour to traditional ones. The new weaving architecture shows an enhancement of the shear stiffness and penetration resistance of the fabric and improves the in-plane isotropic behaviour of the fabric. Finally, preliminary numerical predictions of the mechanical behaviour of the tetraxial fabric are presented and compared to the experiments.

Abstract
This work presents the experimental investigation aiming to characterize the mechanical performance of the new tetraxial fabric and to compare the mechanical behaviour to traditional ones. The new weaving architecture shows an enhancement of the shear stiffness and penetration resistance of the fabric and improves the in-plane isotropic behaviour of the fabric. Finally, preliminary numerical predictions of the mechanical behaviour of the tetraxial fabric are presented and compared to the experiments.File in questo prodotto:
