Paesaggi agrari: l’evoluzione della tutela

The heritage of knowledge on the formation and evolution of agricultural Italian landscapes transmitted by Emilio Sereni, of undisputed value, open the problem of the protection of historic agricultural landscapes: from their identification (values, extensions, features) to the transmission of techniques for growing and maintaining the organization of agrarian spaces. This landscape is in constant changes due to agricultural market and agricultural policies. How the “conservation” and the “spatial planning” have historically responded to the necessity of preservation of agricultural landscapes, through the national and international conventions? The urgency of an integration of the Rural Development Plan measures in compliance with the existing landscape matches with the current interest of the Ministry of Agriculture concerning the historic rural landscapes (according to the initiative of National Catalog of Agrarian Landscapes and Landscape Group Document in the National Strategic Plan). The contribution aim to clarify and document the problems expressed trough a short excursus on the historical conventions on heritage in view to the construction of the Agricultural Landscape Charter.
