Now and again, in face of efficient authorities and good designers, the construction sector lacks organic planning and organization, optimizing resources, costs, time and so forth. The lack of unicity, uniformity and coherence of the process definitely represents an issue that affects the efficiency of the results in the sector. Considering this issue, the INNOVance project has established as purpose to create a database, containing all the information that characterise the phases of the Building Process, easy and shareable by all the actors involved. The development of an innovative information and computerized system has a significant impact on all the life stages of the work: from the design to its fulfilment, from the renovation to its management, from the classification of already existing buildings or infrastructures to their eventual demolition. The paper presents a unified and unambiguous classification system for all the information relative to all the works in the construction sector. This system, based on the Sheets of the Works is articulated at various levels of design. These sheets, in addition to their informative nature, are at the base of a computer system, the INNOVance portal. They are useful to store, access and share information on the work, for either traditional procurements and more innovative ones, as the Private Public Partnership. In this case, they facilitate the communication between actors of different nature, such as the Private Sector and Public Administration.
