This paper looks at the design process and the experimental creation and assembly of a temporary pavilion developed during a students’ workshop at Politecnico di Milano, School of Architecture & Society (2011-2012 academic year). Over 60 students took part in a competition to design a small building that, using textile membranes in a new perspective of sustainable development, complies with some of the latest ideas in architecture, such as life-cycle thinking, time-based design and km-zero philosophy.
