The paper presents the results of a field test, carried out by the authors, on the optimization of the site operational management , during the restoration works of a tall building, located in the center of Milan. During the construction work the preparation of the Building Progress Reports (BPR) is subject to frequent discussions between the contractor and the construction supervisor. A 3D-BIM visualization of the works realized by the contractor -and then to be paid- can be very useful for the construction supervisor in order to prepare the BPR. This kind of view may allow the contractor and the construction supervisor to discuss the works that are really to be paid showing as well the works already paid while preparing the next BPR. Starting from these considerations, a methodology for the realization of visual Building Progress Reports through BIM model has been tested. According to the method of payment fixed by the contract, it will be necessary to carry out the BIM model deconstructing correctly the different building elements and/or components during the design stage of the intervention. If the BIM model is realized taking into account the needs of BPR preparation, the construction supervisor, during the construction phase, will run it easily getting the Building Progress Reports in visual and in tabular form in order to verify the works actually realized. This BIM application has the aim to improve the management of the construction site during the execution phase taking advantage of the information contained within the database already created in the BIM model reducing, meanwhile, the number of disagreements.

Abstract
This BIM application has the aim to improve the management of the construction site during the execution phase taking advantage of the information contained within the database already created in the BIM model reducing, meanwhile, the number of disagreements.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
