Abstract
The electrodeposition of metallic coatings containing inert particles can be traced back to studies which produced a graphite–copper composite coating for self-lubricating surfaces in car engines. The advanced physical properties of composite coatings quickly became clear and during the 1990s, new areas such as electrocatalysts and photoelectrocatalysts were considered. With the emergence of nanostructured materials over the last decades, electrodeposition techniques have provided a route to a variety of new nanomaterials. In this chapter, results on the electrodeposition of gold composites with carbon nanodiamonds and nanotubes are presented and discussed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
