An European funded project (ECCE) is trying to understand the changing needs of the industrial employers in the field of engineering in Europe (mainly France, England, Germany, Spain, Italy and Hungary),and to relate the learning outcomes to the required competences. The results of a series of surveys among alumni, interviews with stakeholders, surveys directed to employers and to universities give insight into this rapidly changing scenario. The quality of engineering curricula is evaluated with reference to an European quality framework EQF, and to EUR-ACE formats developed by an international Committee which are used by different accreditation bodies.

Abstract

An European funded project (ECCE) is trying to understand the changing needs of the industrial employers in the field of engineering in Europe (mainly France, England, Germany, Spain, Italy and Hungary),and to relate the learning outcomes to the required competences. The results of a series of surveys among alumni, interviews with stakeholders, surveys directed to employers and to universities give insight into this rapidly changing scenario. The quality of engineering curricula is evaluated with reference to an European quality framework EQF, and to EUR-ACE formats developed by an international Committee which are used by different accreditation bodies.
