This paper explores the relationship between the city and the game experience, with the intent of identify how the applied playfulness could happen during the visiting activity of particular areas of Milan. This paper relates and analyses the design of a pervasive urban game concept, dealing with the territorial communication in the city. Tourists and curious citizens compose the project’s intended target; the leading idea is to allow players to experience urban spaces more closely, bringing them toward new interaction models with society and culture. The goal is to engage them in a relationship with the urban context and its competitive elements. The project is the consequence of a theoretical research on game topics and of the desire for the development of a socio-cultural interaction related to the urban fabric; it was born as a graduation thesis at Politecnico di Milano, School of Design in 2011.
